Statement:
The ODBA Board of Directors met at Ft Rucker, Al and discussed some concerns about the carb rules in modified and voted the following changes that will be in effect immediately and enforced starting with the Wetumpka, Al race in May.
One equipment change was made in that small gear cases WILL NOT be allowed for any Modified Production engine package. As well as weight changes being made to carbureted packages as follows:
Mercury - Carbureted
142.2 cubic inches from 1175lbs to 1200lbs
153 cubic inches from 1275lbs to 1300lbs
3.0L big block from 1300lbs to 1325lbs
3.2L big block from 1375lbs to 1400lbs.
OMC- Carbureted
3.0L from 1300lbs. to 1325lbs.
3.3L form 1375lbs. to 1400lbs.
Yamaha- Carbureted
2.6L from 1300lbs. to 1325lbs.
Suzuki- Carburted
2.7L from 1300lbs. to 1325lbs.
